Distilled in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania from Wormwood, Anise, and several other herbs following an absinthe recipe dating to the mid 1800's; Szczypkowski Absinthe is aromatic and clean. Paying homage to John's Polish Heritage, we make our absinthe with the thoughts of the old Country. Piołunówka dates to the 16th century as it is described in Stefan Falimierz' 1534 opus On Herbs and Their Potency. Piołunówka very bitter alcoholic infusion made by macerating wormwood in alcohol. Its name comes from piołun, which means wormwood in Polish.
